Unwind At The End Of The Week

January 9, 2017

Most people look forward to the end of the week with the same ferocious anticipation that the lion hunts down its prey. By the Friday, everyone is ready to unwind, relax, and maybe go a little crazy. Here are some suggestions for things you can do with your friends at the end of a long work week:

Go Out for Drinks

This is a perennial favourite with most working crowds because in many (almost all) offices, drinking on the job is an offense that can get you the sack. So what better way to (literally) unwind than with some alcohol? People hit the bars so much on Friday evenings that many establishments have special rates, ladies’ nights and other lures to attract customers. Plenty of restaurants in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra and other big cities also offer discounts and deals on Friday night, especially the ones with a liquor license.

Have a Nice Dinner

Once you’ve got that light buzz, it’s time to get some carbs in to your body to soak up the alcohol and make you sober – so you can go bar crawling again later on. There are restaurants in Adelaide and other cities that customize their menus for Fridays by offering smaller bite-sized portions just for the customers that come in looking for quick eats before they hit the drink again. But it’s also a nice option to go out for a nice meal with friends and relax after a hard week. You can trash the management, swap gossip and celebrate having your own time till Monday morning.

Seek Out a Massage

Why wait till the weekend to unwind? Instead of poisoning your system with way too much alcohol, you can make yourself loose and limber by doing something else instead; a full body massage will get the blood flowing into those limbs that petrify themselves every week, sitting in a chair behind a desk all day. There are options for group massages that cost less than if you go alone, so make an appointment for you and your friends and go get chillaxed!

Change of Scenery

Some people find it hard to relax completely until they change the environment around them as well. If you are one of them, then the best thing to do would be to drive out of the city into a place which has more trees and a better view of the sky. Simply changing your location in order to get away from the noise, the pollution and the lights can do wonders for your psyche. You can start your weekend early by going off on a hike or take a trip to the countryside.
